We’ve got a couple of new book titles in the shop. Both are directed toward the intermediate to advanced climber, and each compliments the other beautifully.

“Gimme Kraft” is a collection of training exercises from a pair of German coaches most famous for training Alex Megos who recently established the first grade 35 route in Australia. There are no programs, just a whole load of exercises grouped according to the apparatus they use. You will have to decide what is going to work and how/when you are going to integrate them into your training regime (for which it helps to know something of your weaknesses – see Dave MacLeod’s book below). It comes with a DVD further detailing all the exercises as well as a couple of very cute stickers. More information at: www.gimmekraft.us

“9 Out Of 10 Climbers Make the Same Mistakes” is completely different. Written by UK training guru Dave MacLeod, this is basically a book of “what not to do” and thus is a rare and valuable thing. There is a pile of books and internet resources, not to mention all the opinions you will come across at the gym and at the crag about how to get strong and how to climb harder but very little to help you sort the wheat from the chaff – this is one such resource.
