This is awesome. Tommy Caldwell with Kevin Jorgenson are going to send The dawn Wall Project on El Capitan, Yosemite NP.
Tommy has been working on this project for more than 7 years and is currently up on the wall (mid winter) attempting to climb each pitch free (no falls, no resting on the rope) from the ground to the top. The thing is that there are 30 pitches up to US grade 5:14d (Aus 35ish). This is by a number of degrees the most ambitious mutli-pitch free climb ever conceived and in the next few days they should be standing at the top. Just awesome.
